A DeKalb County man is accused of robbery and kidnapping in Cedartown, Georgia. Cedartown Police say it happened Thursday night at a store on North Main Street. 45-year-old Kelly Jack Mayo of Fort Payne allegedly attempted to rob the business. Thanks to a call from 9-1-1, police arrived before Mayo could leave, at which point they say he took a female employee hostage at gunpoint and left with the employee in her vehicle. An officer rammed the vehicle with his patrol car, forcing it to stop and the suspect was taken into custody without further incident and the hostage released without injury.
