If you visit the Ken Joiner Calhoun County Administration Building, leave your weapons behind. The Anniston Star reports that the Calhoun County Commission passed a resolution Thursday that prohibits possessing a weapon in the building and allows signs to be posted notifying the public of the policy. Two weeks ago, a gun rights activist had asked the commission to remove the no-weapons-allowed signs that are posted on the building. Jason Dean, a member of Alabama Gun Rights, says the organization will pursue legal action against the county, if necessary. A county attorney says the no-weapons policy is authorized by the state legislature.
