The National Weather Service says a wind advisory is in effect until six o’clock this evening for parts of north Alabama, including Dekalb, Marshall, Etowah, Calhoun, Cherokee and Blount counties. Sustained northwest winds anywhere from 15 to 30 miles an hour with gusts of 35 to 40 miles an hour are expected. Secure outdoor items and drive carefully.
In addition, the counties of Etowah, Calhoun, Cherokee and Blount are under a freeze warning for tomorrow morning from midnight to nine AM. Sensitive plants should be covered or brought inside.
