Bookkeeper sentenced

A 68-year-old Etowah County woman is facing almost five years in federal prison after pleading guilty to stealing more than 900-thousand dollars from her former employer. Peggy Cochran McGlaughn was sentenced at federal court in Huntsville on Monday. McGlaughn is also required to pay back, with interest, the money she stole from Bob Roberts & Company, a Gadsden construction company where she worked as bookkeeper and office manager for 24 years.
