Hazardous weather outlook

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for north Alabama, including Marshall and DeKalb counties. Thunderstorms are expected to increase in coverage this afternoon with the most widespread activity along and west of Interstate 65. A few marginally severe storms are possible, producing wind gusts up to 60 miles an hour, quarter-sized hail and perhaps a brief tornado. Storm activity is also possible in Etowah, Calhoun, Cherokee and Blount counties.
