Bribery Charges Against State Lawmaker

A state lawmaker and a lobbyist are charged by the Feds with turning a blind eye to bribery. Republican Rep. Jack D. Williams of Vestavia Hills and lobbyist Marty Connors were arrested Monday. The FBI contends the two men knew about a bribe paid to another lawmaker — to push health insurance legislation — but they did not report what they knew. Now, they’re charged with conspiracy.
